Firstly we of course hope that no-one has been seriously hurt. You, though, still have the hassle and worry of dealing with the situation at the time, arranging to get things repaired, hoping your repairs are done properly and coping with not having your vehicle for a period of time.
At Allied Accident Repair we deal with situations like yours many times every day. That's why our trained and experienced staff can help reassure you and guide you through each step of the road back to normality. From the moment you get in touch, our goal is to help you understand your options and to provide the information you need to make your own decisions about what to do.
First things first - if another driver is involved in the accident, make sure you exchange insurance details or at the very least contact details at the scene. Next, you need to know the damage! Once you bring your vehicle to us (or we can even collect it from you) one of our ATA qualified vehicle damage assessors will appraise you car, free of any charge or obligation. The assessor will then provide a written estimate of repair costs and repair time.
If the accident was down to you, you can then decide whether to make a claim with your own insurance company or, if the repairs are relatively minor, pay for the work yourself. The amount of any excess payment in your insurance policy and the effect on your no-claims bonus will be factors in helping you decide the best course of action. If your insurance company is paying for the repair, a free courtesy car will be provided for your use until your vehicle is ready.
If the accident was your fault and you have third-party insurance you'll have to pay for the repairs yourself, though you are of course welcome to seek other quotes before agreeing to go ahead with the repair.
If another driver has accepted that the accident was their fault you can claim on the other party's insurance. To make life easy, simply pass us the other person's insurance details and an outline of the accident and we'll make the claim with their insurance company. An engineer from their insurance company will then process the authorisation for us to go ahead with your repairs. A like-for-like courtesy car will be provided for your use until your vehicle is ready and you will have no excess to pay.
